SEAT UPHOLSTERY KITS
Mercedes W113 seat upholstery kits are easy to install, no special tools are required. We do recommend professional installation. Available in the original MB Tex. vinyl or imported leather our kits exactly duplicate the original upholstery. All 230SL and some 250SL models had smaller seats which were the same on the left and right. The original horsehair pads are not available for these early seats. To replace the pads, you must upgrade to the larger "handed" seat style. Special colors not listed may be available, Call for samples.FAQ Upholstery

We recommend the replacement of the horsehair pads to regain the feel of the original seat.
Carpet on back of front seats is supplied as part of carpet set.

Most Mercedes W113 body cars were delivered as 2 seat roadsters. 2 options made provision for rear seat passengers. We can supply kits to re-trim either of these options. No hardware or pads are available for these optional seats. Call for more details 805-921-0100.

CARPET SETS:
Mercedes Benz had several options which applied to the carpeting in the W113 model. Cars were offered with either LHD or RHD floor shift stick or automatic. Air conditioning which changed the front floor design, was offered from 1969 to the end of the model run. A rear facing jump seat was available and one version sometimes known as a California coupe had a full rear seat. 230SL and early 250SL cars originally came in squareweave carpet, later 250SL and all 280SL came with import loop carpet. Either way, our carpet sets authentically re-trim all the areas originally carpeted including the seat backs. Each set is bound in matching factory style vinyl and heel and toe pads are included. Molded underlayments are not available, old under-pads must be re-used. Jute padding is available by the yard. FAQ Carpet Note....very early 230SL models came with rubber mats on the front floors in place of carpeting. These are now available from the original manufacturer. HEADLINER, TOP and RELATED ITEMS
Pagoda W113 SL tops were originally supplied in German Canvas with a tan herringbone inner surface. The German canvas with its high thread count is a bit more difficult to install because of its lack of stretch. Replacement tops made from American Stafast canvas with a plain tan cotton inner surface and American Sonnendeck canvas with a tan herringbone inner surface similar to the German canvas are the choice of most professional installers. All three tops are very similar in appearance.
